Senior Mechanical Maintenance Engineer/Technician

Job Description:

We have opening for a senior mechanical maintenance engineer to join our maintenance department based in Portharcourt Nigeria.

Successful candidate will be working in a challenging, fast moving, interesting, and rewarding environment while being exposed to a broad field of assignments and projects in the oil and gas industry.

Key responsibilities

• The senior mechanical maintenance engineer is responsible for ensuring highest possible uptime and availability for mechanical equipment in the electric wireline, slickline, Welltesting and other sections of our business.

• Accountable for ensuring reliability is highest possible and where needed facilitate / perform root cause investigations to increase reliability and general performance of equipment.

• Ensure incident free and reliable operation, including timely and proper maintenance of systems.

• Ensure timely documents review and commenting to engineering and projects department on new facilities when requested.

• Accountable for implementing maintenance excellence by aligning with corporate standards and international best practice, on mechanical equipment.

• Ensure timely and proactively follow-up on all relevant failure reports, lessons learnt within areas of responsibility of employee.

• Ensure future maintenance activities are proactively planned, prepared, and scheduled with the required level of equipment integrity and reliability within areas of responsibility of employee.

• Ensure maintenance activities are proactively coordinated including contractor & vendor management within areas of responsibilities of employee.

• Ensure liaison with field maintenance team, operations team, and other stakeholders to stay updated on the on-going maintenance activities within areas of responsibility of employee.

• Ensure equipment documentation and periodic preventive maintenance (ppm) procedures are constantly updated within areas of responsibility.

 

Job requirements

• Higher professional (technical) education: mechanical engineering

• More than 5 years’ experience working on wireline and slickline unit is a must.

• Experience in global and local oil companies and operations.

• Extensive understanding of rotating equipment, compressors and diesel engines.

• Fluency in both written and spoken English languages is preferred.

• Communication and Leadership skills.

• Computer literacy, MS office skills, general computer skills is a must;

Key Responsibilities

• The Coiled Tubing Supervisor is responsible for organizing, overseeing, and performing all types of coiled tubing jobs.

• Ensure delivery of services with flawless quality execution and no HSE incidents.

• Provide technical support to crew and clients at the wellsite and in the facility.

• Ensure proper documentations of equipment status and maintenance.

• Develop expertise on advanced coiled tubing and Cementing techniques.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of High National Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering from a reputable institution

• Minimum of 6 years of field experience with a coiled tubing provider. Knowledge of Coiled Tubing job design will be an added advantage.

• Hands-on maintenance experience with mechanical and electrical equipment and engines, preferably with an understanding of well control.

• Experience in global and local oil companies and operations.

• Fluency in both written and spoken English languages is preferred.

• Communication and leadership skills.

• Computer literacy MS Office skills,  general PC skills is a must;

JOB SUMMARY

The Executive Assistant must be aware of the organization’s aims and objectives and work to help the Business Head leadership in the Group to make the best use of their time by assisting in various projects as well as dealing with all localized logistic, secretarial, and administrative tasks.

Use of Computer office packages, analytical, discretion and confidentiality are essential attributes to be successful at this role.

The candidate must be a focused, efficient, result-oriented individual with strong leadership personality and communication skills.

He/She must have the ability to multitask and simultaneously work on multiple engagements.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Organize meetings and ensure that the Business leadership are well prepared and represented  for those meetings, preparing agendas, pre-meeting briefings, notification, and meeting papers.

• Manage the Business Head’s expense reporting and request.

• Manage relationship with internal and external customers, teams, partners etc.

• Manage arrangements for management meetings, including production/distribution of meeting agenda and all necessary paper works.

• Process the Business Head’s correspondence, ensuring that incoming correspondence is dealt with by the Business Head/or on behalf of the Business Head or other staff as appropriate.

• Screen calls enquiries and requests, and deal with them when appropriate.

• Sending reminders to all stakeholders on pending tasks/projects/updates.

• Filter emails/calls and ensure they are attended to as per urgency/importance level.

• Ensure effective and smooth running of Business Head’s office.

• Liaise with various departments to ensure work tools are provided and all equipment’s working.

• Reconciling monthly expenses.

• Maintain the Business Unit office systems, including data management and record keeping.

• Maintain records of Business Head’s contacts.

• Assist the Business Head in researching and following up with action on matters which fall within the Business Head’s responsibility – chasing responses, triggering follow-up action.

• Produce documents, briefing papers, reports and presentations for the Business Head.

• Carrying out research for projects as requested by the Business Head.

• Taking minutes at various management meetings updating same on the meeting record portal.

• Support Procurement department with detailed analysis to support the BU leadership in making prompt and accurate purchase decision.

• Support the BU leadership to conduct periodic audit on the various departments in the BU to ensure adherence to company policy and processes.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

• Post secondary school education.

• Ability to work with minimum supervision

• Possess good negotiating and problem solving skills.

• Must possess moral values that aligns with the Company’s values

• Strong communication skills; both verbal and written.
