Senior Mechanical Maintenance Engineer/Technician

Job Description:

We have opening for a senior mechanical maintenance engineer to join our maintenance department based in Portharcourt Nigeria.

Successful candidate will be working in a challenging, fast moving, interesting, and rewarding environment while being exposed to a broad field of assignments and projects in the oil and gas industry.

Key responsibilities

• The senior mechanical maintenance engineer is responsible for ensuring highest possible uptime and availability for mechanical equipment in the electric wireline, slickline, Welltesting and other sections of our business.

• Accountable for ensuring reliability is highest possible and where needed facilitate / perform root cause investigations to increase reliability and general performance of equipment.

• Ensure incident free and reliable operation, including timely and proper maintenance of systems.

• Ensure timely documents review and commenting to engineering and projects department on new facilities when requested.

• Accountable for implementing maintenance excellence by aligning with corporate standards and international best practice, on mechanical equipment.

• Ensure timely and proactively follow-up on all relevant failure reports, lessons learnt within areas of responsibility of employee.

• Ensure future maintenance activities are proactively planned, prepared, and scheduled with the required level of equipment integrity and reliability within areas of responsibility of employee.

• Ensure maintenance activities are proactively coordinated including contractor & vendor management within areas of responsibilities of employee.

• Ensure liaison with field maintenance team, operations team, and other stakeholders to stay updated on the on-going maintenance activities within areas of responsibility of employee.

• Ensure equipment documentation and periodic preventive maintenance (ppm) procedures are constantly updated within areas of responsibility.

 

Job requirements

• Higher professional (technical) education: mechanical engineering

• More than 5 years’ experience working on wireline and slickline unit is a must.

• Experience in global and local oil companies and operations.

• Extensive understanding of rotating equipment, compressors and diesel engines.

• Fluency in both written and spoken English languages is preferred.

• Communication and Leadership skills.

• Computer literacy, MS office skills, general computer skills is a must;

Key Responsibilities

• The Coiled Tubing Supervisor is responsible for organizing, overseeing, and performing all types of coiled tubing jobs.

• Ensure delivery of services with flawless quality execution and no HSE incidents.

• Provide technical support to crew and clients at the wellsite and in the facility.

• Ensure proper documentations of equipment status and maintenance.

• Develop expertise on advanced coiled tubing and Cementing techniques.

• Ensure timely and proactive follow-up on all relevant failure reports, lessons learnt within areas of responsibility of Employee.

• Plan and coordinate operations and ensure that all materials are rigged up, tested, and ready to perform the job.

• Prepare and deliver comprehensive job program and post job reports to customer.

• Maintain communication with client wellsite representative, rig crew, and field support staff and participate in knowledge sharing.

• Follows up on service quality events with operations management team and ensure incident reports are promptly closed out with clients.

• Ensure work is performed in compliance with service quality, health, safety and International standards.

• Train and Mentor subordinates in all aspects of the operation.

• Ensure equipment documentation and Periodic Preventive Maintenance (PPM) procedures are constantly.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of High National Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering from a reputable institution

• Minimum of 6 years of field experience with a coiled tubing provider. Knowledge of Coiled Tubing job design will be an added advantage.

• Hands-on maintenance experience with mechanical and electrical equipment and engines, preferably with an understanding of well control.

• Experience in global and local oil companies and operations.

• Fluency in both written and spoken English languages is preferred.

• Communication and leadership skills.

• Computer literacy MS Office skills,  general PC skills is a must;

  • Manage day to day relationships with partners and clients and develop a deep understanding of their needs

  • Gather new intelligence for the preparation of reports, tenders and presentations that will win the company contracts in on-going and up-coming projects
  • Generate work orders, Request for Quotation (RFQ) and Purchase Orders (PO)

Required Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in any Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 5years MWD-LWD-DD experience preferably with Baker Hughes
  • Minimum of second class lower or its equivalent  
  • Previous sales experience in Business Development related activities preferably in the oil and gas sector.

  • Management of filing system
  • Match invoices to work orders.
  • Process bills for payment.
  • Perform accounting and clerical functions to support supervisors.
  • Input type vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements, reports, and other records.

Requirements:

  • HND/B.SC. in Accounting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Able to work with minimal supervision, be self-motivated and target-driven.
  • Organizational, verbal, and written communication skills is a must.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task is an asset.
